About Us
The Haskayne School of Business
The Haskayne School of Business, affiliated with the University of Calgary, equips aspiring leaders with the competencies to integrate economic, environmental, and social objectives, with a focus on Sustainable Development Goals. Bizz Atomic originated as a group project during the MBA program at The Haskayne School of Business.
What is Bizz Atomic?
Bizz Atomic creates business programs for students in grades 4 to 9. Our goal is to teach business and essential life skills engagingly and effectively using creative teaching technologies. We collaborate with professors from The Werklund School of Education and the Ambrose School of Business to develop our programs.
Rationale
Bizz Atomic aims to spark young children's interest in business. While attending the MBA program at the University of Calgary's Haskayne School of Business, a group of students discovered that many younger students are already interested in the business world but face challenges in learning business and financial concepts. Bizz Atomic's central thesis is that many people fail to translate their scientific and technical knowledge into career and life success due to a lack of business, financial, and essential life skills such as communication, collaboration, self-discipline, and leadership. Successful individuals combine technical skills with business and financial acumen, which should be learned early in life.
Mission
Bizz Atomic's mission is to enhance the success and maximize the potential of young children by facilitating the efficient and effective learning of business skills and essential life skills. Collaborating with leading educators, Bizz Atomic introduces a pioneering approach to business education that integrates economic theory and hands-on experience to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset.
Bizz Atomic guides students in efficiently developing their ideas from conception to implementation. To date, students have participated in six business programs offered by Bizz Atomic, establishing it as the sole provider of systematic and comprehensive business education for young children year-round.
Education Partners
Bizz Atomic designs specialized business programs for younger students, enhancing effectiveness and age appropriateness through collaboration with education experts: Professor Dr. Beaumie Kim from the Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary, and Associate Professor Dr. Wilian Gatti Junior from the School of Business at Ambrose University.
